If you’re getting ready for some relaxation at the Tiki Theater on Santa Monica, you might want to have a bite to eat first.
Stop in at Tlayuda, a couple doors to the east.It’s a small joint with about 5 tables and a counter looking out the window onto Santa Monica Blvd. The service is happy and efficient.
The stand-out dish is the guacamole. It’s easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
The tlayuda is about 15" across, and we got it with the tasajo (beef). The fresh avocado and stringy Oaxacan cheese was great.
The tortilla is a little dry, so you really need the sauce. But to make it REALLY good, put the guacamole on it. YUM
