I had a dish once with a stripe of squid-ink aioli across the top that looked like a banana slug.
Providence has long offered a terrific dish called the Ugly Bunch (uni, abalone and geoduck are the core elements).

I agree that geoduck is ugly, but delicious. I think uni and abalone are pretty. To me, sculpin fish is ugly but delicious.
I love that dish at Providence! It’s probably my favorite thing on the menu…but the plating is exceptional…an unconventional ugly.
