A friend gave it to me. What is it and how to cook it?
Looks similar to a delicata squash. Cut it in half lengthwise, take the seeds out, slice into 1" half moons, brush with oil, roast.
How big is it? Skin might be tough and not so nice to eat. I’d steam a little piece in the microwave to get an idea of its flavor and texture.
how about the size of 2 sweet potatoes.
I wouldn’t bet on the skin being good eats.
You can usually eaT the skin on delacata squash. They don’t have a lot of flavor why waste - it’s not like the skin on butternut or some others
