Pseudo-Jewish empanada.
Traditional knishes leave a lot of room for improvement.
Good article. I totally agree with this article’s assessment of Yona Schimmel.
Zabars were pretty good.
Like 10 years ago, my biz partner (from Brooklyn) has a visitor in our office, tells me that his family, allegedly, is the inventor of the knish. I guess there’s a debate who really invented these things. I’m any case, This guy got out of the business and moved out here to California. But he homemade us some knishes, some kasha and some potato… that were fucking ungodly good
It is indeed hard to find a good one. I personally like meat knishes best.
Still excited for this to open
According to Eaterla it opens today. Travis Lett is no longer involved, however.
Smart move
They’re not open yet I just drove by hoping they were
Yeah my brother drove all the way down there they said they are not open. They said someone told Eater that they were but they really are not. They’re going to do some little things here and there. I think they said something tonight after 4pm.
What’s Travis Lett up to now?
