Any opinions on either of the new Melrose steak frite places, L'Assiette or Le Relais de l'Entrecote?

The recipe for the soup is online, @thechez5. They had given it to KCET while it was still PBS-affiliated. I have not had a chance to try it, but I will soon knowing that it’s gone.

Yeah, I’ve had it saved forever but never bothered making it. Guess I’m gonna have to now.

They tried to raise 125K for a liquor license. I can’t imagine a french restaurant surviving without serving alcohol.

Anyway, here’s an article from LA Times about how liquor licenses are killing LA’s restaurants.

Went here a couple times and didn’t think it was that good. Unfortunate, but not surprised. The strip on Melrose between fairfax and highland is hard Area for restaurants as well.
