Canned hominy isn’t really posole. You won’t get the nixtamal flavor.

Might be delicious, I just wouldn’t call hominy stew posole. That’s kind of like stuffing a pita and calling it a burrito.

You should, of course, call it anything you want. My roof, my rules. And when I freeze it I’ll label it “pozole” rather than “pork, hominy, chile, etc. stew.” LOL.
