Hulk… smash!
The double IIRC. It’s not bad or poorly executed which makes me think i just don’t love that style of burger. It’s like someone serves you toast -but just the toasted part and none of the soft crumb underneath lol.
What’s wrong with it?
Nothing wrong with the ones we had, I really liked them for the most part, spread was a bit sweet on one for my tastes but everything else was spot on. I was just referring to the more recent pictures not quite holding up to their previous standards.
Seems like quality control issue, check out the sear on mine back in November. Sergio cooked this himself.
TBH, I don’t get them, either. I want something I can sink teeth into, beside the bun. And I want more meat flavor (or any sort). But maybe I just haven’t had a great example of one?
I really enjoyed the beef and that it’s not over-seasoned & salty. Maybe they should simplify and not do so many different types of burgers, preparations, toppings and buns.
thanks @chrishei for the heads up on steak frites week. got the ribeye au poivre today. very good and crazy qpr at $20. shout out to the parsley.
Us, too! Because we needed a poon choi accompaniment.
For any folks interested in a fun gift idea…look no further than Amboy and Chef Cailan to put some fun stuff together.
I had boxes made up for my holiday staff gifts this year…no boring gift cards from me. Chef fashioned beef and non-beef boxes for me. Boxes came with an Amboy hat, 50/50 blend, spice blend, and sea salt. The beef box came with steaks. The non beef box came with lobster, chicken, and bacon.
I can say that I’m the most popular manager on staff now.
That is a great idea!
I wanna work for you!
Beef: It’s what’s for morale-boosting…
I had the classic double yesterday for the first time. Definitely a good burger. I don’t know if it’s worth the price though, $13. didn’t try the fries. got those yellow peppers for an extra $1.50.
Cascabella peppers! God I love those little peppers. I learned the name because there was shortage this year so places were substituting with those banana peppers.
To respectfully disagree, I would say that $13 is reasonable for a scratch made burger by a local, non-chain business, especially a double burger. Unfortunately, inflation is hurting everyone, but small businesses still need to pay their bills, and in this environment, $13 sounds like a decent deal.
I agree, but I would not call it a deal. After I thought about it, Burger King is $8 for a Whopper, so $13 is not over the top.
But a BK Whopper and Amboy are apples and oranges. Harry’s Berries Strawberries go for ~$20/lb!
