Any prep suggestions for these awesome looking shrimp?

Oh, I agree. And I want those. Thanks.

Now wait. I thought - ignorant as I am on the subject of sushi - that nigiri required rice. ?

Look closer - There is rice underneath that giant shimp in my photo.

you probably ate them by now, but the correct answer for me is always…GUMBO.

Whereas my MO is the better the ingredient the less I do with it. Just let them shine.

shrimps are bottom feeders!

The horror!

And your point is?

A bottom - feeder is any aquatic animal which spends some or all of its life feeding on or near the bottom of a water body. … Common bottom -feeding animals include crabs, lobster and crayfish, shrimp , shellfish, sea anemones, snails, starfish and sea cucumbers.

my point…they are not a high end item to everyone.

it’s as high end as a $13/lb item can be.

A wonderful ingredient, IMO, in no way needs to be “high end.”

So looking back at this list, it appears that bottom feeders constitute a number of “high end” foods. I’ve not eaten anemones or starfish.

bottom feeders = top tasters

Just read a comment. Any thoughts?

what?

Re bottom feeders

I’d be wary of buying dead spot prawns, the reason they are usually kept alive is because once they die their heads usually release an enzyme that causes the texture of the meat to become mushy.
