Well, more power to them haha I was sort of just poking some mild fun. I find these kinds of marketing descriptors funny. I don’t really ever look at restaurants websites other than their menus usually, so don’t really notice them.
I haven’t been back there since they added alcohol and smaller plates either though, so that is why I was particularly dumbfounded I suppose.
who said anything about…“better”?
nobody here “reviewed” a restaurant they couldn’t get in to.
there was some discussion about how a particular restaurant was hard to get in to.
nothing wrong with that.
I realize (or assume) you’re being a bit hyperbolic in statements like this, but the sentiment is that Bestia is doing something wrong/bad by being booked out for three months in advance.
You’re right that there’s nothing wrong with discussing about how tough it may be to get into a place. Of course non-food related conversation/critique of a restaurant (reservations, service, ambiance, etc.) all factor into your experience, and therefore, are worth of discussion. But to condemn a restaurant without ever having been does feel a bit injudicious.
Though, like’s been said many times, they’re just opinions. Plus, it’s juss food.
you are putting words into my mouth and misusing the terms “damnation” and “sentiment” and “condemn.”
and that is your right, but your post is regards to me is factually incorrect.
@Chowseeker1999 - not to mention paying for the privilege of parking in their lot. That annoys the hell out of me, I’m spending money at your restaurant and you’re charging me for the pleasure of using your parking lot? And no, I don’t need a valet to park it, the parking spot is 15 feet from the entrance!
You’re upset because a restaurant is charging you for parking? Uh…maybe you’re living in the wrong city then. Paying for parking is just part of life in LA, and pretty much any other major metropolitan city.
No one questions my word choice and gets away with it! (jk. I come in peace.)
“Damnation”
expressing anger or frustration. Seems to be an apt description for “Fuck them.” to me.
“Sentiment”
a feeling or emotion. I think I can see your point with this one. Maybe “inference” or “implication” would have been better? Enh. I still feel like “sentiment” works.
“Condemn”
express complete disapproval of, typically in public. Again, seems to be an apt description for “Fuck them.” to me.
Anyway, semantics. Doesn’t really matter. We should focus on more important things. Like Pokemon Go.
i’m not going to argue semantics with you.
again, what you don’t seem to understand is, i think you have every right
to have any opinion about what i said and what i meant.
however, i am telling you that you are incorrect.
which is what i said.
i hereby claim not to damn or condemn bestia, nor do i express ANY “sentiment” about them other than,
well, i guess i won’t be going there.
why don’t you focus on your own feelings, which i’ll assume you know, and not mine. no one does that to me
and gets away with it.
I’ve read that article and, with all due respect to Dr. Shoup, I note he doesn’t offer any alternatives. Are we supposed to take 3 buses to get to Bestia? Or ride bikes along La Brea in stiletto heels to have dinner at Mozza? Where’s our monorails, dammit.
