Brunch in Camarillo

Hi there, I need some suggestions for a Sunday buffet brunch for about 20-50 people (maybe more) in July.* My son is getting married in the Sterling Hills Country Club, so it could be near there or the Marriott (I think we have a room bloc there). From what my son has told me, the hotels there don’t have dining operations.
*There will be many family members traveling from the East Coast, St.Louis and probably LA too. I won’t know the count til they RSVP.

Driving to Ventura could work if the place better than what is in Camarillo. It doesn’t have to be upscale/foodie but definitely good quality and reasonable $$$. I appreciate any and all suggestions, thanks!

Bumping this up to the top–I really need help as I don’t live in the area, and everyone (bridal party and guests) are from out of town.

All suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I am sometimes in Ventura, but have only had dinners out there, so this suggestion just comes from what some folks around there have mentioned to me: Immigrant Son Caffe on Main Street. An Italian take on brunch. I’d contact them and ask how many they could accommodate to see if it works for your party

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at the menu and while I would love to eat there with my partner and just a few friends, we really need basic food and a buffet. Think scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Budget is also an issue.

We were just on Main Street a few weeks ago and didn’t see this. We’ll have to go there for brunch.

Back to the drawing board, I guess.

You never know who might have relevant knowledge, but a budget brunch for 20 or more people is not the kind of thing that people on this board generally look for or discuss.

Agree w/ looking at/posting on /reddit.

When is the deadline for RSVPs? I imagine there could be a big difference btw 20 and 50, in terms of what the restaurant can accommodate or might require of you.

Thanks for your reply. I understand the purpose of this board but there is no one else I can ask.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. We really need a private room, or worst case scenario, booking the entire restaurant.

Thanks for your reply. I talked to the couple tonight and they are asking for a large advance RSVP, I think at least 3 weeks. They’ve invited 175 people but don’t expect everyone to come. Most of the group is from out of town; many from the Mid-West and Many from the East Coast. Some will stay for a week depending on their travel budget and/or ability to get the vacation time off.

If you are looking for a served meal (not buffet) in Camarillo with a semi private area……check out Eggs n Things on Daily. They have a 2nd section in the Restaraunt that you can reserve. Their food is delicious and they serve both breakfast and lunch. I live in Camarillo if you have other questions feel free to reach out D

Thanks for the rec and I’ve been to their location in Valencia. I do like their food but I don’t think it would work for this group. I hesitate to do served meals as in my experience, a buffet works better than served meals. Having worked as a catering sales manager doing very large events (some over 5000k) , if there isn’t a program then guests can come whenever needed. It’s also easier on the kitchen to prepare one menu at a specific time instead of a large group trickling in and ordering whatever they want. Ideally the menu would be very basic–scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato (hash browns?) fruit and breakfast pastries. I can add more if the budget permits. It’s unfortunate that none of the hotels in Camarillo have food service as that would be the best scenario. I’m debating checking hotels in Thousand Oaks as it would be helpful to those guests who may fly home after breakfast.

Thanks again!
