On a totally unrelated note (but still related to the broad topic, maybe), is the entire city of Buffalo a foodie hidden gem??? Someone on another Board (def NOT food related) who seems kind of crazy the more they talk/write said that they thought Buffalo had the best food in the US. And, yes, they reside in Buffalo.
I know a 20-something restaurant industry person who just moved to Oakland from Buffalo, and based on their daily epiphanies, no. Which is not to say that they don’t have some great food there.
