Had a “Wine Weenie” dinner in the parking lot beer garden the other night. Hiro’s upped his game during the pandemic. The menu’s been refined but is still so accessible and delicious.
So happy to have an A-level Izakaya on the west side of LA.

Yeah, man. Hiro’s menu is so extensive. I can’t wait to dig in further.
He also preps yakiniku-style cuts togo. Grill at home on your own shichirin! We didn’t order any of the beef items on our previous visit, but I am sure they are excellent because of his extensive experience at Manpuku.

Izakaya Hakata Hero had a new Unadon/Unagi Don, that he has been working on for quite a some time (he told me perfecting the sauce was quite a challenge).
Sauce, rice and eel where simply fantastic.
Much better than what we had at Toku Unagi in WeHo.
Like most of the specials there, it may or may not be available when you go, so if you really want it call or send an inquiry in advance.
