Got a bunch in our CSA box this week. I already have a batch of homemade kimchi.
Maybe a braised daikon and pork, either in the style of Japan or a shao rou.
Served at Shibumi last night from @JLee ’s IG stories
Yep! Daikon in soup is awesome!
I made a vegetarian version of this, and it was awesome. You might like the original even better!
Grated, similar to horseradish with beef. and used with grilled fish…oroshi
Hmm. Maybe I should get some of the trotters out of the freezer and braise them with those.
Chinese radish cake - lo bak go / luo bo gao. With a food processor, it’s not much work. Nice to make at home because there are so many ways to go with it. It works well with just dried shrimp and sausage, this recipe adds mushroom, I’ve seen dried scallop.
Instead of oyster sauce, I dip in soy sauce and roughly chopped garlic, or any dumpling style mixture, lao gan ma, etc.
Why did I not think of that? I love that dish.
Thank you!! I always worry that Dim Sum dishes would be hard for me to pull off at home. But that looks great and straight forward!
