Bazaar meats very good meal. Salads are definitely the weakest portion of the meal. Stick to the tapas and steaks

Vegas? I ate there a few weeks ago. Mostly agree though I thought tapas>steaks

Yup Vegas. If it was in LA it wouldn’t be in my top restaurants but fun to visit, kinda of a weird corporate bro party vibe though that I didn’t love but that’s Vegas I guess.

Maison Matho: Sandwiches and pastries shine at Maison Matho, a cozy French window near the - #2 by paranoidgarliclover

Is the Yemeni place in Westwood new? I couldn’t find any discussion of it here (and don’t recall seeing it before).

Per this, yes:

House Of Mandi Bringing Yemeni Food To Westwood

It caused quite a stir when I reported that New York’s noodle expert Dun Huang was moving into the former El Pollo Loco space at 1081 Gayley in Westwood Village. For whatever reason, that never happened. Now the address appears to be getting a new tenant. Signs are already up announcing the arrival of House of Mandi. House of Mandi has a location in Anaheim and specializes in Yemeni food.

And here’s the menu for the Anaheim location.

I would say Vancouver but I haven’t been to Toronto in many moons

Toronto and Vancouver/Richmond are definitely the best even though I never eaten in either places. Just second and third hand talk from HK’ers.

Where would the SF Bay Area rank? Third place?
NYC, or SGV, 4th/5th?

Drooling!

Damn you didn’t mess around with that Montreal trip!

How did you like the Montreal style bagels?

Schwartz vs Katz vs Langers how would rank?

Pasadena for PCC flea and Roma Market.

having grown up in the greater toronto area, markham/scarborough chinese food is way way way better than bay area. Vancouver (Richmond) is comparable to GTA.

I hope you got more than just oysters at joe beef, haha. Next time you should try Mckiernan or Larry’s/Lawrence!

Probably going to get flamed here but Langer’s>Schwartz’s>Katz’s

We did. Wish I could say it lived up to the legend but they seem to be running on autopilot now. Oysters were fantastic, though.
