Dinner near Greek Theater?

The OP was for pick-up/takeout in the area pre-theater/concert at the Greek. “Decent”, even satisfying, in the area might be the most one could hope and you did not present a better miracle.

Personally, I find the Rigatoni Al Tre Funghi, Lasagna Bolognese and the Capellini alla Checca at Farfalla delicious and consistent for just about any occasion. The polenta with mushrooms or sausage is pretty good too.

A picnic of Little Dom’s Fried Oyster Sandwich with a salad and their arancini would make me happier than anything I could get at The Hollywood Bowl and priced better…even with the 4% healthcare surcharge.

Farfalla hasn’t changed much since I started going there in 1988. Little Dom’s isn’t perfect but all in all Los Feliz is better for having these neighborhood restaurants than not.

Agree Dom’s is fun, has a full bar, is Greek-close and the food (other than the pizza, which sucks) is good enough.
Appy’s like Clams Casino and the Fried potatoes are delicious.

Just to follow up on this thread, we ended up at Sogo Roll Bar in Los Feliz. Imagine if kazunori served califnornia handrolls. Well that’s kinda the vibe here.

Pros: no wait at 530 on a Saturday, in/out in 50 minutes, larger portions for the price compared to kazunori. Probably better than what we would have been able to do inside the Greek itself and only 10 mins away.

Cons (maybe a pro to some): it’s a California version of kazunori.

Greek is an awesome venue.

kinda think that Sogo does the platonic ideal of the spicy tuna crispy rice. Maybe the only thing they do really well.

And as someone who’s lived a block away from it for a decade, I can say empirically that Little Dom’s is bad food, full stop. Bar is nice though.

they probably fried up a few dozen in the 50 minutes I was there. guess I should’ve ordered that appetizer afterall.

Sahag’s

We had Little Dom’s for delivery tonight. We liked it. Quality food. Bold flavors with lots of olive oil, garlic, and chiles.

What’s new since last year? Have a show Wednesday night, coming from Santa Monica pre traffic so looking for earlyish dinner, about 6:00.

Where to go?

Dal Milanese just opened on Hillhurst and Ambrose, strong recommend.
