Flagged post removed by staff

I read the community guidelines and I can’t ascertain which guideline(s) I allegedly violated. There is a guideline against excess profanity, which I did not violate - I think one “f” word in the context of hoping for optimism is quite benign. I did not attack an individual user. There is an allusion to politics under the broader category of regulation that impacts the restaurant industry, but that can’t be the reason, as there’s no community guideline against mentioning politics (and my post was not predominantly about politics, anyways).

That post was live for 2 months without any adverse action. It’s in a long thread that according to the metrics 2.7k people have read.

Just yesterday, you (@robert) and I were civilly debating a California bill to ban unauthorized reservation resale. I expect our disagreements in that thread had no bearing on this enforcement action and the timing was simply a coincidence.

Please let me know what guideline(s) the post violated / why it was removed. Thanks!

PS, apparently you get a badge for reading the community guidelines - gamifying good behavior, I like it!:

Complaining about the lack of good news in a topic about the fires seemed way put of line.

I just hadn’t gotten around to dealing with flagged posts for a while. I thought the system had hidden it when it was flagged.

I was not complaining about a lack of good news, I was expressing grief and sadness while hoping for better things in the future, like many others in the thread. I think this removal was out of line.

Somebody flagged it and it seemed like a reasonable objection to me. I don’t think the post read the way you meant it to.
