I needed some fresh basil for a recipe. The 4 oz size was 2x the price but 6x the size of the 0.5 oz size at the supermarket (and the leaves in the smaller sizes looked terrible). But that means I have a lot of leftover basil. Can I wash and then freeze them?
No, try making pesto, or dry them.

Ugh, that’s what I thought. The on-line reading I was doing mentioned mashing them in oil and such, but that obviously isn’t the same.
