Happy Hour - the ultimate collection

We’ve never had a comprehensive happy hour thread here, for Los Angeles, and I’m a HH champion. My go to spots are on the westside, would love to hear about places further east:

Vito (bolognese and a martini for about $18)
Chaya Venice (edit: closed but leaving for posterity/memory/honor:),
Belle Vie (wine is $5 until 7PM)
Ingo’s Tasty Diner
The Galley (can be enjoyed on the patio, and one of the few places where you can get a chili dog accompanied by a martini)

also, re: The Galley:
they offer happy hour at the bar all day on sundays.

dunno whether the sunday deal extends to the patio or not.

Newly opened Sawyer in Silver Lake runs a pretty good happy hour

Barbrix also in SL has a late night HH starting at 10pm everyday with $8 burger and fries and all wines by the glass half off.

tailback - wow! That sawyer happy hour with the oysters looks fab! I need to tell my shellfish loving hubby about it. Thanks for the post!

good looking menu at sawyer. anyone been?

We really like the happy hour at Komadori sushi. Lots of nice choices, well prepared and the folks are sweet. 3-7pm every day!

If we’re feeling fancy, we’ll hit Ruth’s Chris in Pasadena. Not dirt cheap but way cheaper than their regular prices. The food is quite tasty and their martini’s? Perfect.

Mrs. Fish has an awesome HH food menu and suuuuuuuuper cheap select signature cocktails. Love that place.

EMC Seafood in Koreatown for $1 Oysters

Cole’s for sandwiches, tots, and Old Fashioned

Hinoki and the Bird

Three dollar happy hour margaritas at the Border Grill Santa Monica until they close for good in October …

Any new/solid 818 recs?

Are both closing do you know?

I believe only The Santa Monica Border Grill is closing at this time.

Rascal on La Brea / Mid-City
$6.00 Nightly 5-7pm and all night Monday.

Boneless Buttermilk Fried Chix w/Pancetta Gravy

Burger - beer-deglazed caramelized onions, sharp cheddar, wild rocket arugula, vine ripe tomoato, herb remoulade, field greens

Beer Chili Short Ribs & Tater Tots -
house-made chili blend, short ribs braised in whit beer, tater tots, habenero aioli, micro cilantro

Not happy hour. But made us very happy anyway! $14.00

We also had Mac & Cheese w/onion puree, blue cheese, sharp cheddar, arugula chimichurri. For drinks we had Moscow Mules & Cava Torre Oria NV Spain.

Bummer though. They’ve been there a long time.

+1 on the all night happy hour at Chaya Venice and the great drink prices at Ingo’s.

Also in Santa Monica: Wilshire, The Misfit, Upper West, Mercado, Bodega Wine Bar, Bar Pintxo.

Slimmer pickings in Venice, especially in you want a full bar, but in addition to Chaya I like Venice Beach Wines, Zinque, Cervateca, South End.

Hinano Cafe is the only bar worth a damn in Venice.

Grab a Happy Hour pitcher (I think it’s $10ish).

And they have one of the best classic cheeseburgers around.

Cerveteca in the Arts District does not do $1 oysters anymore. I know they been mentioned on $1 Oyster lists. “It was only for a promotion”

“Backyard Burger” is clearly a frozen patty, with that distinct peppery aftertaste. Definitely not freshly grounded daily or whatever they advertise.

Some of my favorites…
Mid-City…Moruno does a nice happy hour. Also just heard about one at Market Provisions, but haven’t been.
Beverly Hills…Love the happy hour at Bouchon…downstairs.
West Side…Agree with the earlier recommendation for Belle Vie. Love that place. Also…the happy hour at Rocksugar is very nice.
West Hollywood…I’m a big fan of Petrossian…and they do a nice happy hour. I think they do a caviar service…or smoked salmon…with two glasses of Prosecco for two. Or…I’ll also go by myself and have a caviar martini and egg royale. Very civilized.
Someone asked about the “818”…Belmont does a nice happy hour. Celebration on Ventura in Studio City has one that starts at 3:30…really good deal on very tasty tacos. And in Toluca Lake…Cascabel. Great margaritas…and what goes better with that than bacon guacamole?

Very nice!
