Yes! That’s it.
Had the omakase here last night and the food was real good with a couple of great dishes like the mazemen and tofu, but our whole meal of 10 or so courses was served in under 40 minutes. It was so fast we couldn’t help but laugh the entire time. The staff here is delightful, but the pacing definitely needs some work.
Pace notwithstanding, it sounds very efficient!
It was way better than the other end of the pacing spectrum. They were so fast it was just funny. By the time we put our utensils down from the last bite of one dish they had bussed the dish and put down the next dish.
Omakase Speed Run! LOLOL
Coming soon: A new Iki Ramen location in Hollywood at 6565 Sunset Blvd.! This space is due for a February or March opening. Build out looks great. #InBeforeEaterLOL
Oh hell yeah. That’s great news.
Yay!! So happy for them!
Hope they can source enough truffle oil for two kitchens.
LOL a few of you always say that but I haven’t noticed the problem and I’m fairly truffle oil adverse.
I’m totally with you on this. Unless it’s like super casual or to go level foods I don’t think “truffle” oil should ever be added to food. It’s just generally over powering and also usually makes me run away from said restaurant in fear of bad food.
there is a lot to like at iki but the heavy use of truffle oil in the mazumen and sashimi/carpaccios/rolls is not my jam.
Just learned that Nuovo at the SMFM mills their olives with white truffles (like you would an Argumato) to make their truffle oil! Pretty cool, but it does sell out.
Would love to taste that, I think that’s way different than your standard run of the mill fake chemical flavored truffle oil
Same. I love Iki… I straight up HATE Truffle oil… even the smell of it. I’ve gotten lots of things there that don’t have it. It’s in a few items, but it’s hardly gratuitous or all over the menu…
But honestly, if they just keep making the best Crispy Tuna and Yuzu Ramen in L.A., I’d still be a big fan…
I’ve experienced dishes with truffle shavings but don’t recall a lot of truffle oil. I haven’t had everything like the Mazemen so maybe I’ve dodged the truffle oil bullet. One of my go-tos is the Kaisen Don. The only truffle I think is shavings on the scallops.
One of the best stands at the market!
epic!!
Soft open today… Chef Jeffry was going to make a limited menu available, but then essentially said to his team: Screw it, let’s present the full menu!
Wonderful space…
New Sloppy Joe-style pork bao, using smooth, luscious MugiFuji premium pork… This pork is terrific: Full of flavor, and even in marbling. Whoa!
