it’s still there, it’s after the caviar course.
My bad - I scrolled too fast. #BYOZojirushi
Just tried the garlic rolls for the first time myself tonight. Yours looked WAY better. Mine were kind of dry and charred.

is it possible to be hungrier after dinner than before?
the food is still fantastic and there’s no doubt kato’s cooking and execution is michelin star level, but this most recent meal must have been the tiniest yet. not sure what the deal is but portions and number of courses seem to be getting smaller and smaller. if you don’t include the $50 supplement, there were seven savory courses, with the first three “courses” being one bite each. even with a small appetite I don’t think that would fill anyone up.
pro tip
if you place your prime pizza order online after your last savory course, it’ll be ready and piping hot by the time you finish dessert and pay the bill. @CiaoBob

Etiquette question -would it be rude to have a clayuda delivered to your table?
So with service charge and tax that was $260 before drinks and pizza?

it’s byob with no corkage, so there’s that…
You forgot gas or uber ride
To quote, @kevin, f*ck. Can’t imagine spending that much and still being hungry enough to eat 4 slices at Prime.
This might be one of the highest “cost per bite” posts I’ve ever seen.
That’s why I can’t justify going back.
How this got #1 on LA Times is beyond me. The definition of flash and style over substance. Maybe one or two nice interesting unique items, but for the prices it’s just not worth it. Another head scratcher.
Allowing BYOB without a liquor license is a violation of California liquor laws.
That aside, it’s still eccentric that they haven’t gotten one. That’s leaving a lot of money on the table.
they don’t not want to have one.
The mini-mall which Kato occupies has already maxed out the number of existing tenants with a license.
Uh welcome …did you create this account to post 3 line 1 star style yelp reviews to complain about restaurants you don’t like?
I like Angler, I’ll be posting my review of it when I go back soon.
