Checked out a popular local noodle joint located in the Northern town of Motubu, the purported birthplace of Okinawan style soba.
Description is very misleading, texture of the wheat flour ‘soba’ is closer to udon. Served in a clear pork rib soup base topped with stewed pork belly and couple slices of fish cake. Not at all heavy or greasy. A couple shots of kōrēgūsu, chili-infused local firewater awamori adds a nice kick. Very tasty.
