Better than the whole ____ And _____ trend

I was thinking it was more of the single word female name trend.

Haven’t we always had one word restaurants?

Philippe’s
Providence
Craft
Valentino
Urasawa
Patina
Spago
CUT
Sotto
Jitlada
etc.?

Yeah I feel like one word makes sense, kind of like a proper name.

The two random words stitched together with an “And” as mentioned by JeetKuneBao above seemed more silly and trendy to me. I like to make up my own restaurant names in this format.

The Hambone and the Harpsichord
The Dinosaur and the Artichoke
The Mermaid and the Yeti

I thought incomplete sentences was the new one word for restaurant naming conventions.

I tweeted about this a while back.

there are tons of one word restaurant names now. I think it kind of follows the tech company thing. Ampersands are so 2015.

don’t humble brag. this is an original poem by you. admit it.

I don’t think this is a new trend

Technically, I Heart Pancakes is a complete sentence. Thank You Fried Chicken could be, but it’s missing a comma.

Thank You Fried Chicken is a new small Korean Fried Chicken place in Fullerton. Had take-out once. Overly sauced for me. With another Korean Fried Chicken opening soon at Brookhurst/Orangethorpe, there are at least 5 KFC places in Fullerton and Buena Park. New trend?

Buena Park has a lot of Korean options in general, and I have seen some spill over into Fullerton. I hope there’s more to come.

I have heard of this place. Fine Scottish cuisine in Frogtown, no?

I’m just tired of seeing everyone use those trite “working class” logos.

@Novelli - Like Hatchet Hall and Maple Block Meat Co.?

I like one word names, don’t mind “and” names, but don’t like numbers w/names.

[/quote]Hadn’t really thought about that. I liked it. It has that throwback era look, that I like. But you’re right. It is getting a little overused… and comes off a little contrived. But as long as the food is good I don’t care what it is called.

OH I absolutely agree! Names and logos don’t make the food!
I was good with it a few years back, but now it seems a bit ubiquitous. Makes my eyes roll, but won’t stop me from trying!

EP/LP anyone?
