Nice @PorkyBelly!
Thanks, I’m putting together a little dinner with a few of my girls as we speak. Can’t wait…
My kinda’ pig!
You sure did, but are you allowed to say things like that? I can’t even imagine better!

Chung Ki Wa in ktown is one place I know that serves bossam with raw oysters. It’s actually a very traditional way to serve bossam. I’m sure there are other places in ktown as well.
Kobawoo too. Sometimes Jun Won. My fave is with fried oysters, though. It gives a little crunch needed for texture.
no yuzu shavings. which version had yuzu shavings? I don’t think i had that before.
thanks i’ll have to check it out.
is that new? last time i was at kobawoo they didn’t serve any oysters which was surprising for a bo ssam specialist.
fried oysters and bo ssam sounds delicious, which places do that?
Went to the pre-Dodger game buffet, 5:30-6:30 pm, $45 per person. Buffet includes the following:
Bing rolls, romaine lettuce with almond vinaigrette
Bounty bowl, stuffed peppers and buttermilk
Overall a nice pleasant meal and I was pretty full, Highlight was the smoked pork shoulder, tender with a hint of smoke. Fried rice was good too but I was stuffed so I couldn’t finish it
I would check with them for the next pre Dodger game buffet because I think they have a different main protein, I think the next one is on September 13.
That is so cool!! I need to catch up on my Insta and junk mail so I stop missing all this. That looks like a great meal.
Now the best way to pre-game before a Dodger game. Did you drive over to the stadium right after? Was there enough time to make it to the game?
I took a Lyft to Union Station and took the Dodger Express Bus into Dodger Stadium (it’s Free). Got there in the first inning. I’m sure if i took a Lyft or drove to the game i would’ve gotten there in the 3rd or 4th inning.
damn! Went on Saturday night for a wine dinner - no pork chop on the menu. Would have crushed that.
It was an off-menu special Saturday night.
=( we had a late res, they told us everything off menu was sold out except for the kanpachi collar
I went on Sunday night with my girlfriend. The pork chop was on the menu, so we decided to order it per the high praise from @PorkyBelly. All I can say is WOW it did not disappoint. Definitely the best pork chop I’ve probably ever had. Although, I have not tried the one from Chi Spacca. Also, the smoked tomatoes were fucking great.
My only qualm was the sauce – it was a bit too sweet for my taste. However, I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day with some rice and it was perfect. Overall, this dish is a must order. Thanks for the rec @PorkyBelly.
Nice, glad you liked it.
baja california uni, broken tofu, yuzu sorrel
refreshing, sweet, and nutty.
stuffed peppers, benton’s sack sausage, buttermilk ranch
nicely fried and crispy
wild king salmon donabe, scallops, roe, avocado, shiso, togarashi, lemon mayo, scallion, fried corn and salmon skin, fried baby sardines, pickled cucumbers, yuzu kosho, nori
long live the king salmon. a really fun and delicious dish. this was basically a huge kaisendon/chirashizushi with vinegared rice, smoked salmon, raw scallops, salmon roe and a bunch of fixins to make your own temaki/onigiri. my favorite combo was with toasted crispy nori, shiso, avocado, crunchy corn tempura, and fried salmon skin. pro tip, ask for some soy sauce to dip in. available until the end of king salmon season. @Chowseeker1999, @TheCookie, @Hungrydrunk, @attran99
this is how i roll
fruit on a fucking plate - murray family farms ifg 34 grapes, weiser family farms melon
this was a miss, the grapes were fine but the melon was not ripe. stick with the kakigori.
This just all seems like fun on the tongue. So many flavor combinations to choose from. Btw, do they still have the Pork Chop?
Thanks for the intel.
