Driving down with my son to a golf tournament tomorrow at Lake Forest. Looking for a good Mexican rec on the way home to PV. Can be more adventurous but hopefully not too dingy!
Thanks!

There’s a burritos las palmas in Santa Ana
These are my favorite food trucks in the area around Santa Ana
Torta ahogadas Los primos
Mariscos el tiburon
Mariscos el yaqui
Also mil jugos not Mexican but Venezuelan in Santa Ana is delicious
Not adventurous, and not too dingy, IMHO. Taqueria Zamora in Santa Ana is great. I’ve been going for years. I’m usually the only gringo in the place, and I’m always greeted with smiles and hugs by the owners. I’ve taken a lot of people, for work and socially, and it’s never disappointed.
So, the golf tournament took a lot longer than expected and the young one was starving. We ended up going to La Cocina de Ricardo. Nothing special but the birria was surprisingly good. Typical broth but nice big chunks of tender goat that my young one devoured!
