i tried it early on and thought the rice was too al dente/dry. she changed the rice after our visit so will need to try it again.

yes, lovely pics–what camera/lens?

A Google Pixel based on the file image name?

definitely a lot better than my iphone 13 pro’s camera is capable of. or maybe i should say, than i am capable of getting with my iphone 13 pro camera (or my nikon z50, for that matter). (though the lighting at most high-end sushi bars seems almost optimized for photography.)

thank you, i’m using a pixel 4.

Photo editing works magic with good lighting!

my iphone 13 pro should theoretically be able to compete with the pixel 4 (before editing). i am forced to conclude therefore that my problem is—to use my kids’ term—“a skill issue”.

Maybe watch some youtube videos for tips and tricks? There are sometimes settings that are disabled by default to save battery or storage which keep the picture quality lower as a tradeoff.

post a pic in good lighting

I’ve been meaning to go. When do they drop reservations?

@NYCtoLA and I (and or silly wives) had a really good dinner here a couple weeks ago. That tamago is still the GOAT of eggs.

Lowkey, any woman who is finding success as a sushi chef is much more likely to be good at what they do given how much they had to overcome to get there.

We went last night - Mori Nozomi was better than ever. I took no photos to post. She is quickly approaching (or already is at) the level of the best sushi masters in LA.
