thank you for this post - captures a lot of the essence of Mori, somehow it always felt warmer than most other sushiyas in LA…
I thought Mori was now in Glendale/Eagle Rock.
It maybe confusing but Morí the west LA sushi restaurant once owned by Mori the chef has been still around run/ owned by his former #2 Maru & is now being sold again.
Mori himself has been out of retirement and at Morihiro on Glendale blvd for a while now.
and now nozomi mori the chef will be taking over mori the restaurant from maru the chef, formerly run by mori the chef who’s now at morihiro the restaurant.
do tell inspector porky… who is this nozomi mori? will this new mori make everyone forget all the previous mori’s?
SHE’s the Moriest Mori of all the Mori’s
she used to work at Ginza Onodera
please include headshot of Mori 3.0
can’t wait to hold hands under the sushi bar with you
i’ll be sure to wear my finest kimono
i used to go to the old mori once a week. i would always be the only one there even though it was acknowledged as the best sushi restaurant in LA. it was sad. they had great artwork. $25k a piece; i never bought one (lol). i wonder if it’s still up in the new restaurant.
i’m sure you all know the offensive remark that jiro’s son made about women sushi chefs? something like: they can’t taste the sushi right because of their hormone fluctuations? oh goodness.
Do you have any information about it? Hours? Pricing? Looks like this is the new site, but it’s under construction so not sure if it’s reliable… https://www.morisushi.net/
Thank you!
