Moscow Mule! Halp?!?!?!

Aesthete, perhaps you should go over to the cheap eats thread and taunt some of the proletariat about their choices.

Actually, I did follow the discussion. It’s just that you were the only one making an issue about how frugal some people are vis-a-vis their burger preferences (and your own tolerance for $14 dollar cocktails. But at the end of the day this is infinitely better than you mocking those for who choose not to valet, or park and walk.)

It seems like a ridiculous criticism to make against the ERB burger purely based on this notion that it should cost $4 when there are no other alternatives to it.

For anyone at home reading this thread I think it is useful to point out the flaw in such a critique of that burger.

Agreed. But it’s equally ridiculous to call out someone for feeling $10 is too much to spend on a burger.

why am i not seeing the flaw here?

as i read it, the critique of the erb burger was it was not worth the money they charged for it.

therefore, is not every burger, whether it costs 4 dollars or 40 dollars, that IS worth the money they charge for it, be it
four dollars or forty dollars, a “better” alternative to the ERB burger?

I’d like to see you point out the specific flaw in my reasoning. My exact quote:

I acknowledge the tastiness of the item but feel that it’s overpriced for what you get. You disagree, that’s fine but your attempt to push your opinion as fact is absurd. An example of an equally absurd/pointless assertion would be insisting something is delicious when another poster claimed it was inedible.

Wait, who said that? I just read the whole thread and I didn’t see anyone saying the burger “sucks.”

I see.

Well, mea culpa, to me something being “wildly over priced” indicates a kind of hatred for the food item. I guess my price tolerances are higher than most people’s though. To me, if something tastes amazing, it has to get to mindnumbing levels before I would say it was wildly overpriced. Otheriwse, to me, making a comment about something being wildly overpriced means it was really shitty, but I can’t even think of anything else worth saying about it.

Personally, I am paying for experience more than sustenance, so that may also affect my views.
