One Day in Miami! Dinner?

We are flying from LA to Miami en route to Havana. We have never been to Florida, and don’t know if we’ll ever be back. ONE night in Miami and where should we eat? We get outstanding sushi and Mexican in LA, so not that, and we also don’t eat offal or anything too spicy. Higher end Restaurants we like in LA are Odys + Penelope, Picca, Baco Mercat and Playa Provisions. We don’t have to spend a fortune on dinner, we like an active, fun but not deafening vibe, very well made food and good service. Good Italian is always welcome!!

We are staying at a Marriot near the airport and must be at the airport by 7:45 the next morning. A 7 PM reservation would be great with 30 minutes or less of travel time (we’ll take a cab or uber).

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!! Dinner will be Saturday night!!

Ceviche 105 will be lively. Ceviche is also very good. Good Peruvian food.

The Miami high end dining scene isn’t the most evolved. They’re still on red sauce Italian.

You should spend your one meal at Joe’s Stone Crab or Yardbird (killer fried chicken and bloody marys).

Joe’s does not accept reservations (wait will be more than 1 hour after 6pm) but they do have a killer cioppino and at Yardbird reservations are a must.
