About 2 miles from my house. Will likely be stopping by this week for sandwiches hopefully before the crowds descend. The pics on the Instagram are very sparse but sandwiches look good and unreasonable priced. Like as in way too low.
Maybe I need a field trip to break up my work day.
This has to be the oddest place I’ve ever been actively seeked out to buy food. I felt like I was on LSD. It took me about 5 mins of walking around before finding the coffee stand. The only place serving food in a medical Plaza with dozens of various doctors offices.
The sandwiches are all permade and all $8 for around 10 inch sub. They were cold to the touch when I received them. All of the insides were cold. The girl behind the counter was going to nuke them for :40 but I was talking them home. A panini press might come become in handy for reheating purposes. The bread is soft with a decent chew. The fillings were all pretty tasty.
Would be much better obviously if the sandwiches were made to order but given the circumstances it’s not possible. The horseradish sauce is excellent on the roast pork. I think they forgot the gardinera which would have helped the Italian sub. Hopefully we can get a better representation of what’s possible in a real kitchen.
wow review forthcame, thanks for the report.
I think that explains the $8.
Has it caught on? Was there an impact today because of the article?
Literally 0 people there at 11:30. Didn’t ask the girl who helped me if there was more activity since the article. It looked like there were maybe 20 sandwiches total premade ready to go.
Found myself in the neighborhood after a long lunch.
@js76wisco was not kidding about the LSD feeling. Located on the ground floor of the Yorba Linda Packing House mixed in with the pediatric offices…it’s both a circus and carnival. It’s hidden behind the water feature/koi pond.
Sandwiches are now $10.
Mass produced and then chilled. Comes with individually packaged sauces and gardinera.
What’s confusing is they unwrap and then re-wrap the sandwiches when you order. Even when I asked for them cold. Seems inefficient…but I’ll humor them.
Took them home for the chowpups, wrapped them in foil and tossed them in the toaster oven. Bread crisped up. Fillings warmed and melded with the accoutrement and they were tasty sandwiches.
I was entirely too full from lunch so didn’t have bites. But I can say that the pork and roast beef were particularly lauded amongst the pups. The Cajun turkey came with a spiced mayo that was incredibly good.
What is the turf portion? I see they also started making breakfast sandwiches.
That was all I got from the IG post.
My guess is the turf would be beef…but no idea.
