Hereā€™s where weā€™re at as of 1/5 at 3:30 PM:

15 confirmed

In the interest of fairness, everything is being done based on timestamp of original post. If I made any mistakes with the timestamps please feel free to let me know.

@mzonelli indicated interest for 2 spots before there was a confirmed date, but I have not yet heard that they can make the scheduled date of 2/27. 2 spots are being held. Iā€™m going to give them until tomorrow, 1/6 at 5PM to respond, otherwise iā€™ll move to the next person.

@raihan indicated interest for 1 spot before there was a confirmed date, but I have not yet heard that they can make the scheduled date of 2/27. 1 spot is being held. Iā€™m going to give them until tomorrow, 1/6 at 5PM to respond, otherwise iā€™ll move to the next person.

@jlehmbeck had asked to be added to the waitlist for 2 people back when there was possibility that we would be full just from people who had originally indicated interest. There is now room as some people who had originally indicated interest were not able to make it. 2 spots are being held. Iā€™m going to give them until tomorrow, 1/6 at 5PM to respond, otherwise iā€™ll move to the next person.

@Thesalmonking replied in the other thread they would like to join with a +1 (2 spots). Depending on how the previous people in the list respond, there may or may not be 2 spots for you. I will know by tomorrow at 5PM. Update: unable to attend

@Clayfu wants to add 1 more person to his group (from 2 to 3). Depending on how the previous people in the list respond, there may or may not be 1 additional spot for you. I will know by tomorrow at 5PM.

@J_L would like to join. Depending on how the previous people in the list respond, there may or may not be 1 spot for you. I will know by tomorrow at 5PM.

If it ends up being close - like we end up at 21 rather than 20, Iā€™m inclined to up by one and let everyone come. If EVERYBODY on the above list is still interested, that would be 24 total, in which case iā€™ll go back and talk to William again to try and ascertain how cramped 24 really is. I donā€™t want to turn anybody down, but I also donā€™t want us to be uncomfortable and compromise the experience for everyone.

There is also one thing from my original post that I must amend. As mentioned, I will request a $50 per person deposit from everyone once I have confirmed/reserved the event with William. I had originally said I would collect the balance 1 week before the event, but I amending that to: I will collect the balance the earlier of 1 week before the event or when William requests payment. If William requires that I pay him 1 month before, then I am going to have to collect from everyone at that time, as I am a generous person but not a bank  If anybody has hesitations about sending an Internet stranger money, feel free to swing by my place in Brentwood and we can meet each other and no longer be Internet strangers or feel free to pay using PayPal goods & services (at a 4% premium to cover the fee they charge) which insures all transactions, or both. Otherwise, I am happy to accept any other payment method under the sun (even cash, begrudgingly).

Thanks for the update. You can take me off though. Unfortunately wonā€™t be able to swing it. Hope this works out for everybody!

Thanks for letting me know, iā€™ve updated the list accordingly.

Will try to get you an answer by tomorrow! It might just be me solo that day but will let you know if you can free up one or two spots. Sorry for the delay

Just waiting to hear back from @mzonelli to finalize the count (no pressure )

If any availability, would be open to come with a +1 for 2.

@keht5 we can accomodate you and a +1. Iā€™ve added you to the confirmed list for 2 people.

That brings us to 18! Iā€™m going to reach out to William and let him know weā€™ve hit the magic number. @mzonelli we can still accommodate you, but based on @moonboy403ā€™s feedback that 20 is pretty darn cramped, I am going to cap this either at the 18 that weā€™ve now hit (if youā€™re out) or 19 (if youā€™re in).

I spoke with William on the phone. Weā€™re all set for February 27th. He does want payment nowish - he said I should call the restaurant any day next week to give my credit card information to pay for the event. Iā€™m therefore going to dispense with the idea of the $50 deposit, as it would be silly to take $50 now and the rest just a few days later.

I plan to call the restaurant this upcoming Thursday 1/11 at 4PM to pay for the event. Therefore, please please please have all payments in 24 hours before, so by Wednesday 1/10 at 4PM, so that I donā€™t have to stress about this last minute. To reiterate, itā€™s $150 per person, plus tax (LA combined 9.5%) plus gratuity (auto 20%). That comes out to $194.25 per person, which I plan to round up to $200 to make the numbers easier. To be crystal clear, that extra $5.75 per person is going to the restaurant as an additional tip, iā€™m not keeping it. Once I have paid, I will send everybody a copy of the receipt for your records.

I am going to DM everybody who is confirmed with various payment options (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, etc.) as well as my cell phone in case you want to text/call me for any reason before paying. One person has already DMā€™d me and said theyā€™d like to meet in person to pay - Iā€™m in Brentwood as mentioned, all are welcome to swing by if youā€™d prefer to pay in person!

Finally, while I donā€™t want to micromanage the specific menu items, William does want our input on ā€œquantityā€. He was originally planning on some light appetizers and ~10-12 slices per person (nearly 2 whole pizzas per person). However, he reflected further on the past couple private events with a similar number of people, and has come to the conclusion that it may be too much food. He said that at the last event, most people tapped out around 7-8 slices (that was after eating appetizers, too), and there was quite a bit of uneaten food at the end. He suggested that if we would like, we could reduce the number of pizzas (by a few slices per person) and he could instead make the remaining pizzas with more premium/expensive ingredients. Iā€™m going to leave this open to debate, I donā€™t really have a strong opinion either way.

Everyone that is confirmed has been messaged with payment information, and a handful have already paid. Thank you to those prompt pizza payers!

Now I open the floor on two important debates:

(1) Do we want appetizers and ~10-12 slices per person, or appetizers and a few less slices per person but with more premium/expensive ingredients. To be clear, even at the higher slice count, William is still planning to make us off-menu specials with special ingredients, but he said that if we do less pizzas / a lower slice count per person, he can up the premiumness (not a real word but fits too well not to use it) even more :pizza:

(2) William says we can do 7-10PM as originally indicated, or he can open one hour earlier, so the event would run from 6-10PM. No additional charge to open an hour earlier / run an hour longer. He said some past events have felt a tad rushed near the end given the quantity of food coming out, which is why he suggested starting at 6PM. But he also said he would ideally like everyone to arrive at the same time, so if getting there at 6PM is an issue for a bunch of people, then we can stick with 7PM. What do you all think?
