Saturday lunch in Newport Beach

Hey Folks,

Driving to Newport Beach this Saturday to meet my 22 year old cousin’s daughter for lunch. Looking for a fun atmosphere but not crazy sports bar. Close to beach preferable but not necessary. Open to any cuisine and pricing.

Pizzeria Mozza? Pretty close to the beach.

Bear Flag on Lido gets crowded. We like the poke, fish tacos and fish plates. Nice outdoor area.

There is a Gulfstream on PCH and R&D Kitchen at Fashion Island if all else fails.

Nobu - request a seat outside ahead of time.

Anyone been to Zinque or Lotus Bistro?

Zinque is solid enough. Decent place to have a glass of wine and some solid enough French food. Go in with proper expectations and you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Tavern House is a decent option. On the water and pretty good food.
