I’m looking for obispo (a pork blood sausage - think “Mexican charcuterie”) in Southern California. Does anyone know of anywhere that may sell or serve it?
Ponchos Tlayudas at Smorgasburg/South LA has s blood sausage, but I got a feeling it is not quite the same
Good tip. I’ll check them out at tomorrow’s Smorgasburg.
Most of the time here it’s called Morcilla. It’s not super common (Not a fan myself) but you can find it on menus of Mexican and Argentinian places as well as markets.
Could be two different regional sausages with the same name.
Yep, it is this specific type of blood sausage that I’m looking for.
Did you ever find it? I used to buy it at a guy’s house in El Monte. I believe he makes it once a month or every couple months. Let me know if you want me to get his info.
It’s like this one: https://www.gob.mx/agricultura/edomex/articulos/obispo-platillo-tipico-en-la-gastronomia-mexiquense?idiom=es
