Ordered delivery from K Banchan x Vons. The menu’s weirdly different from the on-site. None of the nice-looking banchan. No kimbap.
Fried chicken is pretty good though I’d have preferred plain, which is not an option.
Vegetable potstickers, more like deep-fried. Not bad but wouldn’t order again.
Fried rice, did not have the pork option, only shrimp and chicken. Good and a huge portion but the pork was better.
Bulgogi spicy pork, not bad, wasn’t clear when ordering that it was served over rice so I ordered a side of rice we didn’t need.
Another breakfast at Grossman’s in Santa Rosa. Big portion of smoked salmon on the “lox” plate.
Creamed cucumbers. Very good.
Hilda and Jesse. How am I the first person on FTC to write about this restaurant? I adored the food. All four dishes I tried were unique and delicious. I can’t remember having a better lunch / brunch in the United States.
The Shota. Outstanding. Friendly chef and staff, attentive service. Great quality from start to finish. I especially enjoyed the starters and desserts. They have a large supplemental menu of high-quality nigiri (in addition to the set menu below), so nobody will leave hungry.
Even on the LA board we don’t get much brunch talk! It’s one of my favorite meals I think there’s a sigma against it.
Which reminds me I’ve been meaning to check out Marcel Vigneron’s hipster brunch place Lemon Grove in LA
The Progress. I liked it, but it would not be in consideration for a Michelin star for me if I were a Michelin inspector. I get you have to draw a line somewhere. The line for me would be: Do I find this food impressive? I didn’t find any dish tonight impressive. Tastes will vary, and to be clear, I would be giving a positive review in a vacuum. I really liked the place. It just seems preposterous to put this meal in the same category as last night’s meal at The Shota. Closest comparison = AOC.
If you’re looking for delivery in SF at 6 a.m., I’ve found only one decent choice: the shrimp panuchos and salbutes from Mi Yucatan. The other food stuff on their menu is mediocre, though the fresh juices are good. (I do not like Noah’s.)

OMG this makes me so happy! Vegan dim sum. So many memories tied with dim sum as well as cultural aspects. Look at that Chiu Chow fun guo!
I’ll be in town Monday-Wednesday. Have business to attend to Tuesday morning in Mission Bay but otherwise have the whole day. Wednesday I leave noonish from SFO. Staying in the Sunset in the 30’s x Noriega
You are reasonable close to Devil’s Teeth Baking Company for their Special Breakfast Sandwich. Andytown Coffee Roasters is closeby on Lawson. Go Duck Yourself is one Uber drive away. White Cap Bar is nice for a after dinner cocktail in Outer Sunset or Lost & Found Bar. (And Mission Bay is a good location for (too) many places in SF)
Terra Cotta Warrior is near there.
pineapple king → coffee movement west → arsicault
san ho won in the mission
That is incredible how long they been in business.
I wonder if any restaurants are sourcing from them?
