SGV recs for a chinese place that has good fish

trying to figure out a meal with friends in sgv. has to be a place that has good fish dishes as one person is a pescatarian. not whole fish dishes and nothing too spicy*. any leads?

*these limitations are only for the pescatarian.

edit: forgot to say that this is probably for a lunch outing and not dim sum. otherwise we’d just go to elite or sea harbour or similar.

No go for Elite due to the recent fire.

Most Cantonese places will be adept at preparing fish and without much spiciness. You can do Sea Harbour for dim sum and also order a few dishes from their regular lunch menu.

the thought of the wait at sea harbour for lunch between christmas and new year’s is forbidding. we’re not a large enough group for a reservation.

what’s the word on jiang nan spring?

How about seafood palace or Boston lobster? I believe they both take rezzies

Henry’s Cuisine in Alhambra has good fish and other seafood dishes and does not do dim sum. I believe you can order off the dinner menu, which has a lot more fish options, even though it’s lunch time.

Eat Joy Food has many good fish preps. Their steamed fish is so good.

thanks, all, for the recs. the family of the pescatarian approved the menu at jiang nan spring and they take reservations, and so we are headed there on monday. have saved the other recs for future reference.

one of the things you’ll notice is that there are only two seafood dishes on the table. this is because on arrival we learned that the pescatarian is no longer a pescatarian! i guess i should have asked, “is x still a pescatarian?” and not, “is there enough for x to eat on this menu”.

That happens a lot at Jiang Nan Spring.
