Does “foodtalkcentral.com” automatically re-map to “www.foodtalkcentral.com”? It did not, the first time for me (I had to manually enter the “www”). It seems to be automatically remapping since.

The site will be in read-only mode for a short time Wednesday as we move it to a less expensive virtual machine. (Needed a bigger one for the migration than is needed for day-to-day operation.)

The site is now running on the smaller, cheaper virtual machine. With any luck the new setup will be enough cheaper than the old one that the Google Ads income will consistently cover the costs.

Cost is now down to around $19 a month. Google Ads income has lately been a little more than twice that.
It’ll take a while to recoup the $1050 the consultant charged for helping with the migration.

On the other hand, that’s $181 a month less than Discourse was going to charge, so the consulting fee will have paid for itself before the end of the year.
