Small Change Oyster Bar - Temescal

Finally opened. It’s in Doña Tomas’s former overflow dining room.

Loire rose was delicious.

Ceviche was exceptional, best I’ve had outside of Mexico and maybe as good as I had in Ensenada. Must order.

Louie was excellent, perfect dressing and lots of crab.

Shrimp cocktail was classic. I’m picky about shrimp and these did not disappoint.

I swear I took photos of the oysters but they’re not on my phone. Oh well. I ate too many.

Fish was great. Room for improvement on the fries. First-rate tartar sauce.

Great addition to the local scene. Everything fresh as could be, friendly service, lively atmosphere. Expect a wait.

Ceviche again excellent. Salmon mousse was really good though I thought the saltines added too much salt.

Shrimp po’ boy was great. Nice crunchy breading on the shrimp, good balance of dressing and veg. Potato chips were first-rate.
