The FTC - Hard Shell Taco Thread

Where are your favorite gringo tacos? I I love Titos (yes! Tito’s) and I enjoy Henry’s. Where else?

El Taco Llama hard shell tacos, preferably w/ al pastor. Hulk smashes Tito’s and Henry’s.

I’m not sure these count as hard shell but Arturo’s Puffy Tacos in Whittier is great. I think puffy taco shells are more of a Tex-Mex type of thing. Love those puffy taco shells. These are totally good gringo tacos.

I spent 18 minutes yesterday @ Del Taco waiting for food. I wasn’t sure who was more inebriated, me or the entire staff.

Besides the places listed on LA weekly, my other favorites include Mexicatessen in Monterey Park, Lupe’s in ELA, and Pepe’s in Alhambra.

Martha’s in Gardena. It’s in a liquior store and everything is coated in decades of grease. But she has legit ground beef crispy tacos.

Yuummmm, well aged grease, years of care and love, just like the finest wines, hams and cheeses.

Casa De Soria* - Canoga Park and in Ventura

Crunchy taco with your choice of meat. One of my coconut friends would bring back boxes of the shredded beef tacos for lunch weekly when I worked in Ventura.

@js76wisco Arturo’s puffy shell isn’t soft, so I think it could qualify for the hard shell category. My husband adores those tacos…more so now that we’ve moved closer to the stand and can literally go whenever we want Monday - Saturday.

Taco Lita is like Taco Bell before it went upscale.

Without a doubt, The Talpa’s ground beef taco is the best.

Nina’s on Sawtelle near SMB. I tried them for the first time for this thread, and can’t stop thinking about them.

Maybe a Tacos Por Favor to Nina’s to Tacqueria Los Anaya bang bang bang is in order.
