Today is National Sandwich Day... what are your favorites?

Thank you, I did not know that even after many visits there. Looks like a good option.

I have a soft spot for Beach City Deli in San Pedro for their Cuban.

(photo from Yelp)

And for totally utilitarian purposes, Busy Bee Market’s Belly Buster w/ Italian sausage and meatballs hits the spot.

Gjusta Short Rib Melt Special…

A day late, but I’ll show you mine…

patty melt - Osso (DTLA)
ham, egg & sweet mayo - Olympic Bakery (Rosemead)
filet mignon panini - Churros Calientes (West L.A.)
plain pastrami on rye - Langer’s (Westlake)
hoagie - Philly West (West L.A.)
filet-o-fish with hash brown - McDonald’s (all over) - And yes, ask for extra tartar sauce (and as KROQ’s Poorman would always say: “It’s freeeeeeeee!”)

I’m not a big meat eater, so most sandwiches aren’t my thing. I do like the duck prosciutto sandwich at Pitchoun in DTLA.

Yes, the filet mignon panini! Had it once several yrs ago, and it was MARVELOUS.

I’m a simple man with simple tastes and I don’t get fancy on my sandwiches. Hence my regular, and I mean regular rotation:

Black Pastrami Reuben – Brent’s Deli
Corned beef on rye – Brent’s Deli
Fried Shrimp Po Boy – Orleans and York
Italia Deli Italian coldcut on a hard Italian roll
Tuna sub at Giamela’s Burbank and at Dan’s Super Subs
Godmother – Bay Cities
Patty Melt – Pann’s (does that count as a sandwich?)
Pastrami – The Hat
Pastrami – Langer’s
Lobster roll – Lobsta Shack
Philly Cheesesteak – Boo’s

Man I eat a lot of meat. Ugh!
