Can you clarify? FTC wasn’t created until Fall 2015, but the last post on exile kiss’s blog is from 2011.

I guess I’m confused. I thought when Chowseeker1999 was replacing posts with “duplicate” I found them posted somewhere else and assumed that was it.
Chowseeker today posted about Connie & Ted’s. I always read his posts. Cover to cover.

Still a mystery then. I love mysteries and am starting to hope we never find out.

Pure pettiness.
@Chowseeker1999 would never copy and paste his old reviews to ek. that would definitively link the two and he doesn’t want that.
when the innocent topic came up about the similarities between cs and ek, he was over-the-top apologetic, feigned ignorance and went as far as claiming plagiarism (even though nobody accused him of that) and volunteering to leave entirely. after he was “convinced” to stay he poses the question to reformat his reports and downplayed his own writing and vocabulary.
but I think it’s pretty obvious now, that he’s been disingenuous and this was all just a cover story.
Apologies @J_L @Porthos . I freely admit to stealing ek’s formatting from our old board. I thought it was a nice format (restaurant name, report, then address) because I found it useful to track down restaurants.
I’ll reformat my reports to not plagiarize. Sorry about that. I feel bad about this; I think I’ll just excuse myself from the board.
Thanks @Porthos @J_L and all. Since ek is no longer around I guess asking all of you if my formatting is too similar (copying), and maybe I should just reformat?
And Porthos, JL, now I know you all are too kind and overstating things. I wish I could write half as well as all of you FTC’ers and OG Hounds. My vocabulary is too limited and I don’t even know how to use “beef forward” properly.

I was just referring to the copying and pasting of the word “duplicate” itself.
last time this came up I got eviscerated for saying they were the same person with some claiming with irrefutable evidence they were different

We should always post links to new @Chowseeker1999 reviews to this “Where are they now?” thread.

It’s hard to believe Connie & Ted’s is now considered a fixture in the L.A. landscape, a long-time spot worth stopping by for excellent New England-style Seafood dishes. It felt like it was just a short time ago that Michelin-starred Chef...

I steadfastly dispute your steadfast dispute, and offer myself as proof. When I come across my early FTC reports I notice how my writing and reporting style has evolved but keywords and key elements of my personality remain.

The great mystery of exilekiss, who burned bright and vanished suddenly. I love the sleuthing that’s been going on in this thread.

This is honestly my favorite FTC thread ever. EK was (is?) awesome and a joy to read. That’s it. That’s the post.

And what ever happened to westsidegal? She was a frequent poster who also disappeared into the ether.

for those still with doubts here’s some more “irrefutable” evidence using a daikon-to-daikon comparison from reviews of “Kyoto-Style Oden Specialist” torihei, written more than 12 years apart.

There’s a certain unbridled excitement when you discover culinary greatness, eating something that is so far beyond what you’ve had before that it changes your paradigm and elevates the standard. And the feeling you get when that greatness is gone...
