Years ago, my favorite sushi spot in NYC was 15 East. And my favorite dish, to finish off a meal, was a bowl of made-in-house chilled soba topped with uni, ikura, scallion, wasabi and dressed with soy. So simple, yet so delicious. Where can I find this or a similar prep in LA?
It’s nearing Soba season, so it will be a bit more busy than usual, but Ichimain has an Ikura Salmon Soba Bowl.

Ichimain? Can’t find a listing. Sp?
Ichimi-an!
Otafuku in Gardena has it.
Otafuku crafts two different types of soba noodles: the signature milky-white seiro soba and a darker kikouchi soba made of buckwheat flour. Both are served firm in a variety of cold preparations.
“One of Gardena’s longtime izakayas, this virtually hidden restaurant is hugely popular with the after work salary employee crowd, though it’s also a fantastic place to try homestyle Japanese dishes and handmade noodles. And David Chang raves about the eel tempura here, so be sure to try that if it’s on the menu.”
