No melons at SMFM today. Heck Tenerelli didn’t have peaches
Please advise if you guys see any sweet honey tasting yellow watermelons 
The yellow field spot tip has served me pretty well!
Got a fantastic watermelon from Costco. Can be hit or miss though.

Not that I’m aware of. The watermelon just grows with the same part of it touching the ground.
Portnoy gave this a 9.8. I don’t know anything about these watermelons but it does look damn good.

It’s that time of year again. I’ve read many articles describing how to choose the best watermelon. Look for the sun spots. Look for the streaks from the navel. Tap the watermelon. The most successful method has been picking the heaviest watermelon. If you see a random person picking up every single watermelon and doing a bicep curl with the melon that might be me.

SADLY, I have not gotten a good one all year! I also know how to pick them.
Sorry. There is nothing worse than bringing home a watermelon, cutting it open and its light pink inside. Then having to eat your way through the mediocre melon.

Mine have looked great, but lacked flavor. You are so right very disappointing. especially when you think you know how to pick them. I have taken them all back to costco. lol

where to get a good watermelon?
You’re going to have better luck with all produce at a farmers market rather than Costco.

It’s a little early.
Best watermelon of the year. Picked a very heavy one with a big sun spot. No better feeling after cracking open a watermelon and tasting the sweet juice. H-Mart Buena Park $4.99.
