Makes sense to me. The law is that it’s illegal to produce or sell in California, but when I buy something on the web, it seems to me that the sale actually takes place in the vendor’s location, and they’re shipping me my property.

Does anybody know what the deal is with foie gras in California right now? I thought it was okay to buy and consume from out of state vendors but not in restaurants so clearly I’m out of date. Asking because of this post

It’s illegal to sell foie gras in California, but it’s not routinely enforced. The law’s enforcement provision is weak, no one’s actually required to take any action. Personally I don’t post about foie gras when I get it in restaurants.
