I’d be curious to try some of his counterfeits. From an Economist article, his recipe for 1945 Mouton Rothschild was two parts Château Cos d’Estornel to one part (each?) Château Palmer and California Cabernet. A Reddit thread says the following for a 1945 Mouton:

  • 1/2 bottle ’88 Pichon Longueville
  • 1/4 bottle oxidized Bordeaux
  • 1/4 bottle Napa Valley Cabernet
    Not nearly as expensive as the real thing, but far from cheap.
