I need to find time to read the drama above haha. Food drama is my favorite genre
Sat at the counter last night as a first timer, everything was delicious. The entire team seemed to be in sync, well paced, and just executing on a high level. I got the corn bread (DAMN ITS GOOD), the albacore (top 3 albacore dishes in LA, considering almost every restaurant has some variation), the scallop, and the pork chop. I love places like this. Sergio was there. Highly recommend.
we were there too. very good as always. my favorite dish was the scallops. definitely one of my favorite restaurants in LA, but only if I sit at the counter.
Agree. Firing on all cylinders even with some small adjustments in the kitchen. This dish might be on the menu for the next week or two. One of the best dishes I’ve had there:
Soft Shelled Crab in She Crab Gravy
(My best recollection of the menu description)
How was the carrot cake?
really good, I liked it more than the strawberry pie. but hard to top gjusta’s.
how early do i gotta show up these days to grab a burger?
If it’s true they’re only making 20 daily, I’d lineup for when they open based on the line I saw when I was there.
Had no idea ppl were sometimes lining up!
On the weekends, they essentially sell out before they open because of the line outside. Your chances during the week are better, but go early. The number is still 20.
We loved the pork chop, chopped liver, crab soup (wow), king salmon… and the damn cornbread for dessert. counter by the fire is the only way! fantastic first visit after Giant
Love love love Dunsmoor - went heavy on seafood this weekend.
Soft Shell Crab and She Crab Soup from Sunday Bar Seat (say that six times, sir)

Dinner last night was fantastic. Sugar snap ceasar (fennel, asparagus too) was like “Hello Spring”! Salmon carpaccio-great but a touch lighter on the horseradish please. Cold smoked salmon-delish. Lamb sirloin was perfectly medium rare, some smokiness from the tomato-paired great with the 10’ Chapoutier Le Meal Rouge. Grilled asparagus with bacon vinaigrette had just right amount of baconiness. Soft shell crab, while delicious was literally swimming in clarified butter-the kitchen should go easier. Chicken liver and obligatory cornbread rounded out the meal. Chatted with Brian a bit. Looks like there will be menu changes more often with some items to remain permanently amid the rotation. Hope they bring back the mushroom spoonbread.
got @chewchow and @CiaoBob’fluenced.

wood-roasted gulf shrimp, garlic butter, chili flake, parsley, lemon

Going back tonight for the first time in a few months. What’s everyone’s favorite move for a party of 2 at the counter?
There has been a cornbread backlash amongst some FTC’ers lately
I do think, once you have had it once, why bother, when there are some many other things to get. But for many people, a visit to Dunsmoor isn’t a visit to Dunsmoor, without it.
Seafood options, on the other hand, have been getting raves.
Cornbread for dessert
I’m a good bit lower on Dunsmoor than many, but the albacore, another of the crudos, she crab soup, salad or dressed lettuces, then either the lamb sirloin or green chile stew will make a nice meal. For two I find the cornbread and chicken liver too sweet.
Agree with @CiaoBob about the seafood more broadly.
