Same at the Venice farmers market! Employee said they’re hoping to have the seascapes through November.
ah so that’s probably what antico is using for their “one more time, with feeling” strawberry ice cream.
Wait! What? I must get!
i got two pints yesterday. i didn’t see an announcement that they were sold out so i would call them right away to see if they have any left.
Damn! I just called and the recording said high call demand and to try back.
Scored!
My wife wanted to try out this box. I guess it’s very popular but I had not heard of them.

it’s farm run by korean american farmer that’s uber popular with many of cali-produce driven chefs/restaurants: such Jeremy Fox, Nikki Nakayama…etc. that explains some of the Asian produce slant. We’ve only had his produce at places like rustic canyon, and An Com used his produce for his pop up operation… if if these chef’s trust him its probably pretty good.
If it’s good enough for Fox and Niki it’s probably good enough for me.
Ha I got mom a jelly melon cucumber plant from the Cal Poly Pomona farm store for her garden last year. That sucker TOOK OVER her front yard.
What do you do with iceplant?
I had it in salads and stir-fried
Prettiest looking veggies I’ve seen in a long time. Can only imagine what sort of great stuff they have in the summer
What’s in the container at the bottom right?
Atomic tomatoes. They look like mini cherry heirloom tomatos. Excellent flavor. Not as sweet as summer tomato but more concentrated tomato flavor. Here is a close up
great looking leeks! that looks a lot closer to what you get in France most
We thought they looked more like leeks as well but in the box they’re called Tokyo negi. I had some raw and definitely closer to leek flavor than green onion.
wow that looks more like leek than tokyo negi to me! shrug. Actually when i saw them I wanted to make a romesco and grill them like a Calçot! I do love the onion family
They look similar to some of the negi I’ve seen at Japanese grocers. There are various cultivars, longer, shorter, thicker, thinner.
The Tenerelli Somersets that were popular in this thread last year in October were back at the Pasadena FM last weekend.
