OMG, you are SO right! LOL.
Fuck , I would give anything to be 21 and a hipster . With the knowledge I have now .
Iāve seen similar things in various neiborhoods of various cities.
Just seems like regional dress to me. What makes it more than that in your view?
Which nabes in which cities please?
Itās never too late!
If I were a 21-year-old hipster with the knowledge I have now, the first things Iād do would be get a good haircut and a new wardrobe.
A couple off the top of my head with distinct styles of dress:
Newport Beach, CA.
Laguna Beach, CA.
Gaslamp District, San Diego, CA
Uptown Oakland, CA
Castro, San Francisco, CA
Mission, San Francisco, CA
Height-Ashbury, San Francisco, CA
Nob Hill, San Francisco, CA
Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA
Echo Park, Los Angeles, CA
Beverly Hills, CA
Abbott Kinney, Venice, CA
Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA
Pearl District, Portland, OR
Alberta Arts District, Portland, OR
Downtown, Eugene, OR
Long Island, Brooklyn, NY
Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NY
Chelsea, Manhattan, NY
Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY
So this is just "regional dressā/ Thatās cool.
im sorry, but without borculo, michigan, your list is sadly incomplete.
It is not a complete list lol
Feel free to add to it!
When we visit wineries in Napa we can usually pick out a look that screams Pacific Heights, SF. OTOH, while thereās a ālookā in Newport Beach and Laguna, I really think itās not at all universal but related to social/economic strata. Iāll freely admit thereās a distinct āOC Housewifeā look too, that one requires a certain age and a degree of plastic surgery (at least on the female side) to complete it but is by no means universal either. Just my 2Ā¢.
My argument is the exact opposite of universality. There are regional styles of dress in certain communities.
Youāre missing my point, I think. I donāt think the ālookā of Newport Beach is āuniversalā within Newport Beach. Itās just the distinctive apparel/grooming preference of enough people there to be recognizable.
Weāre saying the same thing.
Please describe the Newport Beach look.
