Reselling Tock reservations for profit

$3000 for a dinner - at which restaurant (or are you including purchases of more costly wines) ?

A party of four can easily spend $3000 without going nuts on wine if the base price per person is $400 before wine, tax, and tip.

From the article
Mr. Bernstein, 48, said he views these restaurants as must-visit attractions, like the Statue of Liberty. The most he has paid was $200 to eat at Sexy Fish, where he said he spent $3,000 for four people.

Just looking over the menu at Sexy Fish (which looks more like a restaurant which is more visited to be seen than the food) and yes, if you pick always the most expensive stuff (include caviar as a add-on etc) you might come to $3000 but that is very unlikely a very representative number or even a good ballpark number

Appointment Trader even allows users to bid on reservations that don’t exist yet. Those reservation slots can be created by restaurant managers, who often have the power to find room for powerful customers. Managers can then pocket the bid, Mr. Frey said.
