Soft and fluffy too
Chowseeker1999 was the Michael Jordan of Food Boards.
For me EatTheWorld is the Kobe.
Food board is serious business!
Sigh. I had never met Servorg, but I will always picture him on a bike.
While there are a ton of similarities, I actually think there’s just enough difference in writing style (but not type of reporting) and word choice/diction to indicate they are 2 separate people. But who knows?
Chowseeker1999 complained of being harassed by another poster but as moderator I couldn’t see that that was the case.
The author of exilekiss.blogspot.com is definitely the same person. Most if not all of Chowseeker1999’s opening posts here that have been replaced with the word “duplicate” are on that blog.
I think there is no doubt they are the same especially with the forensics posted above.
It is sad that so many posters are so sensitive to a little humor/ribbing (or whatever else) ticked them off, that they have to remove themselves but I do appreciate that many people have thinner skins than I do. I miss @Chowseeker1999 and @ipsedixit quite a bit and do occasionally lurk on HO to see what they are up to.
I know CS99 got quite upset with me because of fly-gate and smog-wash. C’est la vie.
People’s writing styles evolve while key elements remain.
Sycophany
Obsequiousness
…but not genuine.
Perhaps I am just very jealous because he very rarely added @CiaoBob to his run on lists of people who need to try something. He was too busy adding @TheCookie all the time
Well said; I agree completely, which if I recall correctly we even discussed briefly during the Szechuan Food Festival by Hop Woo Restaurant back in 2018.
Haha… I didn’t get any reciprocation out of the deal. He mostly ignored my reports except to throw the occasional shade. You had mosquito-gate. I had Majordomo-gate.
Can you clarify? FTC wasn’t created until Fall 2015, but the last post on exile kiss’s blog is from 2011.
I guess I’m confused. I thought when Chowseeker1999 was replacing posts with “duplicate” I found them posted somewhere else and assumed that was it.
Chowseeker today posted about Connie & Ted’s. I always read his posts. Cover to cover.
Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V
Pure pettiness.
Still a mystery then. I love mysteries and am starting to hope we never find out.
@Chowseeker1999 would never copy and paste his old reviews to ek. that would definitively link the two and he doesn’t want that.
when the innocent topic came up about the similarities between cs and ek, he was over-the-top apologetic, feigned ignorance and went as far as claiming plagiarism (even though nobody accused him of that) and volunteering to leave entirely. after he was “convinced” to stay he poses the question to reformat his reports and downplayed his own writing and vocabulary.
but I think it’s pretty obvious now, that he’s been disingenuous and this was all just a cover story.
Apologies @J_L @Porthos. I freely admit to stealing ek’s formatting from our old board. I thought it was a nice format (restaurant name, report, then address) because I found it useful to track down restaurants.
I’ll reformat my reports to not plagiarize. Sorry about that. I feel bad about this; I think I’ll just excuse myself from the board.
Thanks @Porthos @J_L and all. Since ek is no longer around I guess asking all of you if my formatting is too similar (copying), and maybe I should just reformat?
And Porthos, JL, now I know you all are too kind and overstating things. I wish I could write half as well as all of you FTC’ers and OG Hounds. My vocabulary is too limited and I don’t even know how to use “beef forward” properly.
I was just referring to the copying and pasting of the word “duplicate” itself.
last time this came up I got eviscerated for saying they were the same person with some claiming with irrefutable evidence they were different
People’s writing styles evolve while key elements remain.
I steadfastly dispute this, and offer myself as proof
