Your Favorite N/A Selections

I quit drinking about 16 months ago (okay, 469 days) because I had to. I’ve been a heavy drinker since I was a teenager and enough was finally enough. I’m truly grateful that it’s been as easy as it has and actually enjoyed being the DD while watching those around me get shitfaced and the hilarity (and hangovers) that ensued.

Anyhoo; I’ve found a non-alcoholic wine that and a few beers that are decent and allow me to hang out with the “grown-ups”, though that’s been less of an issue as my sobriety has become my new (amazing) norm. I’ve tried a number of beers, wines, and mocktails along the way. Here are a few that are in my rotation:

Giesen 0% Sauvignon Blanc - not great, but decent;
Guiness 0 - surprisingly close to the “real” thing and a great way to end an evening;
Corona Non-Alcoholic - I didn’t love Corona when I drank unless I was in Mexico, but this is very close to their standard beer, and it’s nice to knock a few back in the pool during these AZ summers.

I’m curious to know what others are drinking.

I hope everyone has a healthy, happy, safe, and prosperous New Year. Cheers!

If I drink N/A beers Athletic Brewery tends to have the best selection of those beers with flavors which are actually not that far off from “real” ones.

Agreed, and that’s the brand that most restaurants and bars carry here in AZ.

Athletic Brewing for beers for sure.

I really enjoy Lyre’s Italian Orange with some soda water.

I loved this I was served at Kato:

I drink Darjeeling and Chinese teas sometimes as a replacement for alcohol.

I am at least temporarily abstaining from alcohol right now and I agree with you that the Giesen sauvignon blanc is very drinkable. I also bought a bottle of the Fre red that I haven’t tried yet. Interested in other suggestions for readily available n/a wines as I’m not much of a beer person.

Most of the reds I’ve tried (including Fre) have been pretty terrible. Yeasty, sweet, and nothing I care to try again. That being said a friend brought a bottle of Ariel Cabernet Sauvignon that was an exception. Not great, but serviceable. I’m curious to see what your opinion is.
